Welcome to the NC Collaborative Training Institute's online training portal. If you work with children, youth, and families, this information is for you! If you are new to System of Care or Child and Family Teams, it is recommended that the courses be taken in order as each builds on the previous concepts. However, if you have already taken some of the courses or need a refresher on some of the topics, each can be taken individually. You will find each course and instructions for taking the courses listed below. Please note that each lesson is fully narrated. Please make sure that your computer has speakers and that you are able to adjust the volume so that you can take full advantage of the material. • CFT 101 Introduction to System of Care and Child and Family Teams (CFTs)

  1. Describe the five steps of Phase 1 in a practical way
  2. Describe the skill of Engagement and the importance of Genuineness, Respect, and Empathy

  4. Identify possible Child and Family Team members and state how they might be approached and included

  1. Describe the basic aspects of the Individualized Plan (One Child One Plan) including vision, goals, strategies, and action steps

• CFT 205 Safety and Crisis Planning and Response for Child and Family Teams

  2. Describe the stages of a crisis
  3. Define reactive and proactive safety/crisis planning
